I could only wish I had come to this statement by myself but it was written by someone that I consider a True American Michele Miller she has her head on right.... Please take the time to read and repost.....let's get this going
I'm sure I'm gonna get bashed for this. I'm not one who expresses what I mean through words correctly at times. 🤷🏻♀️ But! Here is goes. A week ago all we saw on tv and social media was anger, hatred and talks about civil war. I have never seen so much racial tension in my 42 years of life. I couldn't understand for the life of me how we got here. We are supposed to be smarter than we were during the infancy of our country, We are supposed to be better than we were during the civil war era, we learned from the civil rights movements but here we are in 2017 hating each other unlike anything I've ever seen. We were allowing a few idiots cause new hate with old hate. I knew we were better than that. We were all starting to get in a giant pi***ng contest with each other and it scared me to be honest. What kind of world would my granddaughter grow up in?
All of the sudden we start seeing reports about Hurricane Harvey coming. Harvey came, he's still here and he's awful. The devastation in Texas is just heartbreaking, but look at what Americans are doing. We are doing what we always do. We are coming together and helping our fellow brothers and sisters. I see Americans regardless of color or political affiliation diving in water, riding in boats and shouting out to anyone that can hear "we are here to help". Yes, there are people looting and some are shooting at rescue groups. Those are small numbers and shouldn't be focused on. If there's one thing Texans can do is they can hold their damn ground. Texans shoot back! There is more good coming out of Texas than negative.
I will always be proud to be American. I hope we can look at the positive that's happening. I hope we don't forget that we are all human, we make mistakes, we fight but we are family in the end. We are Americans and I'm damn proud to see us finally start acting like it again. We may stumble at times, do stupid things but we always find our way. Texas is gonna need all of our help. I have no doubt we will hold their hand and see them through this. 🇺🇸
