Well, as we all know, the SF Marathon was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19, but Jasmine and I plan to be there in September to run for a cure for cancer. Not bad for an 83 year old!
Since last summer, my sweet dog, Jasmine, has had two bouts of cancer, so now I'm even more motivated to raise much-needed funds for cancer research and treatment since animal and human cancers have a lot in common. I'm also running for people, like our wonderful vet, Katie Roberts at Lone Mountain Vet Hospital in Carson City. Katie's come through cancer treatment this year as well, so I'll be raising money to help cure cancer with her in mind.
I'm also so grateful to Dr. Carman at Carson City Vet Hospital. He handled Jasmine's most recent surgery beautifully. She's a tough old girl and bounced back quickly, despite her age. She still loves to jog alongside me as I continue to train.
Jasmine also earned her 'support dog' certificate this year. She has an amazing ability to warn me before my health condition flares and it's been a God send.
Stay tuned for more info on how you can donate and support my Run 4 a Cure. Be well everyone
