Thank you to those who attended our book club yesterday! The conversation inspired by the Lavender house was insightful and personal to everyone who joined us. Book club will return in December, but we still have plans for you to join us in October and November. Keep an eye out for our Halloween Social and our November "Sportsball Fall Extravaganza"! (Yes, we did decide to name our event that.)

We are looking forward to our next Common Roads Group in Carlisle. The next event will be on October 5th from 4-6 PM. It might get spooky and frightening with the number of crafts we have available.

The Carlisle Pride Community Engagement Intern will support Carlisle Pride’s efforts to strengthen its year-round presence in the local community. Hosted through Dickinson College’s LGBTQ+ Center, the intern will assist with planning, promoting, and evaluating community events that foster connection, belonging, and support for LGBTQ+ residents and allies in Carlisle and the surrounding area. Potential responsibilities include:

Assist with planning and logistics for Carlisle Pride events, including monthly community programs.
Support outreach to community members, local organizations, campus partners, and volunteers.
Help create and share promotional materials, including social media posts, flyers, and event announcements.
Attend planning meetings with Carlisle Pride and the LGBTQ+ Center as needed.
Collect and organize community feedback to help shape future programming.
Track event participation, volunteer needs, and follow-up tasks.
Support day-of-event setup, welcoming, coordination, and cleanup.
Help identify opportunities to strengthen connections between Dickinson College, Carlisle Pride, and the broader Carlisle community.
Complete other related tasks that support Carlisle Pride’s visibility, accessibility, and community engagement.

Common Roads is returning, this time at Bosler Library meeting room C. This is a drop-in space for teens 14-17; our return date is September 1st! This meeting will be a reintroduction to the group and game night, so get ready to hang out and play games.
