Specialized Saddles founder, David Kaden, started competing in the sport of endurance racing in 1999. David’s love for horses led to the development of an adjustable saddle, which he ultimately received a patent for. He now owns a top endurance saddle manufacturing company Specialized Saddles, and the western saddle division TW Saddlery. David believes all horse perform better when their saddle fits, and he has dedicated his life to relieving back pain for horses though the use of his patented adjustable fit Specialized Saddles.

There's nothing better than hearing about our riders reaching new milestones!

Tammy Rauch from Kentucky recently purchased a beautiful Specialized Aussie Ultralight saddle, fitted by Specialized Saddles representative Dee Silliman. Tammy and her horse, Reece, have already put their new saddle to the test, completing their first 50-mile endurance ride together in it!

Here's what Tammy shared with us:

"Reece and I finished our first 50 mile endurance ride in our new Aussie ultralight saddle. The terrain was steep, rocky and slick as it was lightly raining but it was a great ride. I'm looking forward to my next 50 mile endurance ride as we work toward bigger goals."

Steep climbs, rocky trails, slick footing, and a little rain didn't stop this team! We love seeing our riders tackle new challenges and set their sights on even bigger goals.

🏆 Congratulations to Jaz Hutchins and Shellal Blood Moon!

What an incredible accomplishment at the Matar Bullio Cup, where Jaz and Shellal Blood Moon completed the 160 km ride in 11 hours and 4 minutes, earning 1st place in the Middleweight division!

Jaz completed this incredible ride in her Specialized Saddles Ultralight, and we’re proud to have been a part of the many hours in the saddle that went into this achievement.

earned win!

Throwing it back to Tracy Webb and Faberge PJ!

Faberge PJ was one of the horses Tracy competed extensively in endurance, putting together an impressive AERC record that included multiple wins, Best Condition awards, and 100-mile completions.

Together, they competed across the country at rides including Biltmore Estate Challenge, Arabian Nights FEI, Fort Stanton, Paso Del Norte, New Mexico Renegade, Rio Grande and many more.

Some highlights from their years together include multiple 1st Place finishes and Best Condition awards, along with successful 100-mile completions — a testament to the miles, conditioning, and partnership behind this team.

And of course, Tracy was putting those endurance miles in aboard her Specialized Saddles International. The International has been part of the Specialized lineup for decades and was designed with exactly this kind of long-distance riding in mind.

There’s nothing quite like looking back at the horses and miles that are part of Specialized Saddles history!

Working Equitation in action!

Specialized Saddles representative Tom Kelner recently taught a Working Equitation clinic in Bothell, Washington, riding in his Specialized Saddles Eurolight while helping participants navigate obstacles including the bridge, garrocha pole, bell corridor, and more.

Working through these obstacles helps hone communication, trust, responsiveness, and athleticism between horse and rider, building a stronger partnership along the way.

We love seeing Tom sharing his knowledge and the versatility of the Eurolight at work!

🏆 Congratulations to Allan Horn and Volt on an incredible weekend at the Fall Fiesta Endurance Ride at Chamberlain Ranch in Los Olivos!

Volt is a 7-year-old, 15.2-hand Quarab who Allan has been steadily training and conditioning over the past year and a half—and that hard work is certainly paying off.

On Day 1, Allan and Volt led much of the 25-mile ride and finished strong, with Volt pulsing down just 15 seconds ahead of the next horse, earning the win.

Then they came back for Day 2 and did it all over again! After another 25 miles, Volt pulsed down first and went on to show for Best Condition with a fantastic CRI—taking home the Best Condition!

Allan plans to continue building Volt’s experience with several more 25-mile rides before making the jump to 50 milers later this year.

We love watching this team develop, and we’re proud to have Allan riding those miles in his Specialized Saddles Ultralight!

Congratulations, Allan and Volt! We can’t wait to see what’s ahead for this pair.

And judging by this photo, Jessica and her Eurolight are putting in some pretty great trail miles together!
