Reader math is the only financial advice I trust.

Preorders don’t count because that money left my account months ago. Vacation books are souvenirs. A book on sale means I actually made money. And buying from an indie bookstore is basically a charitable contribution to the local economy. I don’t make the rules. I just follow generally accepted reader accounting principles.

Please tell me the most unhinged piece of reader math you’ve ever used to justify buying another book because I know we’re missing some loopholes!

We host seasonal reading retreats (plus international reading retreats in Paris, Scotland, Prague + more!), monthly Phoenix book club meetups, fantasy balls, book festivals, bookish markets and all kinds of reader shenanigans. In a reading rut? Need to get out of the slump? These four fun and spicy reads will do the trick! 🪄

You know that book that reminds you why you love reading in the first place? The one where “just one more chapter” turns into accidentally staying up until 2am? That’s the energy we’re looking for here.

These are the books we reach for when nothing on the TBR is hitting and we need something fun, addictive and impossible to put down. Basically, four books with the very important job of making reading feel fun again.

How is it already September and we only have FOUR MONTHS left of 2026?? I’m not really sure who approved that, but we’re gonna make the most of them.

We have so much fun bookish stuff coming up before the end of the year. Practical Magic 2 and happy hour, our fall reading retreat with wine, books and flash tattoos, a downtown murder mystery, our monthly virtual book clubs, trivia night, a veryyyy exciting Regency bookish market we can’t fully tell you about yet 👀 and we’re ending the year dressed up for a fancy holiday book swap because obviously we believe every problem can be solved by putting on a cute outfit and buying another book. So basically, if you’ve been looking for book clubs, bookish events, reading retreats, fantasy events or just a way to meet more bookish friends in Arizona, we’ve got plans.

We really want to spend these last few months having fun, reading good books and actually doing things with the people we’ve met through this little corner of the internet. Some events are free, some are ticketed, some are virtual, and some are literally just an excuse for us to get together.
