Fire + glass + chemistry + imagination. That’s Barbara Di Ulio of Stormy Originals in Manitowoc.
Her stunning jewelry and glass artwork begin with layers of dichroic glass—a material originally developed for the aerospace industry that shimmers, shifts, and changes color as it catches the light. Each piece is meticulously cut, layered, cold-worked, and kiln-fired using firing schedules she's developed through years of experimentation. Barbara often chemically etches designs directly into the glass coatings, creating textures, patterns, and effects that make every piece uniquely her own. The final results are vibrant, luminous works that seem to glow from within.
