Open Data Science Conference

Open Data Science Conference A community for the real world application of open data science, bringing collaborators together to move the industry forward.
(1)

ODSC - Open Data Science Conference - is essential for anyone who wants to connect to the data science community and contribute to the open-source applications they use every day. Our goal is to bring together and cultivate the global data science community to help foster the exchange of innovative ideas and encourage the growth of open-source software. AUDIENCE______________________________
ODSC

conferences and content are unique in that they attract an audience of both decision-makers, such as CTOs and lead data scientists, as well as the “ninjas” or decision-influencers, i.e., the people who actually use and build analytic tools. FOCUS_________________________________
The primary focus is on the languages and tools that enable effective data analysis, including:

– Open-source languages used in data science (R, Python, Julia, Scikit-learn, etc.)
– Machine Learning
– Predictive Analytics
– Deep Learning (Neural Networks)
– Social Network & Graph Analysis
– Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing
– Data Visualization
– Big Data Tools
– Pig Latin/Hive/other Hadoop-based Languages

PAST AND FUTURE _______________________________________
In 2020, ODSC engaged nearly 20,000 data scientists at conferences, meetups, and hackathons across the U.S., including ODSC East Virtual Conference, ODSC West Virtual Conference, and many other industry-related events.

2021 promises to be even bigger, with six conferences in the works across the globe, including ODSC East Virtual Conference, ODSC West in San Francisco, ODSC APAC Virtual Conference, ODSC Europe Virtual Conference and ODSC LATAM Virtual Conference. AI is moving fast. Your skills need to move faster

This summer, join the ODSC AI Engineering Accelerator and go from using AI to building, deploying, and understanding real-world AI systems.

From June 9 – July 23, you’ll take part in a 7-week, hands-on learning experience designed for professionals and engineers ready to go beyond tutorials and build practical skills in:

✅ AI & ML foundations for agentic systems
✅ Coding assistants and AI engineering workflows
✅ Data preparation for AI systems
✅ LLM architecture, fine-tuning, and evaluation
✅ Context and memory for AI agents
✅ AI assistants and agentic workflows
✅ Capstone project: build and deploy your own agentic AI application

The program includes 8 live virtual training sessions, expert-led instruction, a hands-on capstone, access to ODSC AI West, and 12 months of Ai+ Training access to keep building long after the cohort ends.

Seats are limited — and it starts June 9. Don’t wait until the AI skills gap gets wider.

According to DataRobot’s 2026 Unmet AI Needs Survey, 71% of respondents say running agents costs more than building them.

That’s one of several signals that enterprise AI teams are still facing major operational gaps as they move toward agentic AI at scale.

The report, based on responses from 413 practitioners and leaders, explores the five unmet needs shaping enterprise AI in 2026 — including cost control, deployment flexibility, and the realities of managing mission-critical agents.

From Intelligence to Autonomy: Building the Infrastructure for the AI Workforce

AI is moving from copilots that assist to autonomous systems that can reason, act, and improve over time. But making that shift reliable takes more than better models – it requires new infrastructure for orchestration, data, trust, and governance.

In this session, Lake Dai shares what the next generation of builders needs to turn today’s AI tools into tomorrow’s autonomous collaborators.

What you’ll learn:
🔹 How AI systems are evolving from assistance to autonomy
🔹 Why data, reasoning, orchestration, and trust must work together
🔹 What infrastructure is needed for an AI workforce
🔹 How builders and enterprises can prepare for autonomous systems

🎥 With Lake Dai, Founder of Sancus Ventures and Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University.
Lake is a globally recognized AI investor, governance expert, and educator, named among the 100 Women in AI in 2025.
