The Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair is celebrating 70 years of handmade tradition, and we want local artists to help us mark this milestone!

We’re inviting artists from our community to submit original logo designs to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair. The selected design will be used in our official fair materials and promotions.

What the winner receives:
🏆 One free booth space at the Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair (optional, if the artist chooses to participate)

Who can submit:
• Local artists and designers
• All styles and mediums welcome

Design Requirements:
• Original artwork only
• Must reference or celebrate the 70th anniversary
• Should reflect the spirit of the Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair
• File format (JPG/PNG/PDF)
• Include artist name and contact info

It's official! Applications are now open for the 2026 Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair on August 7th and 8th! While we had originally planned to move to Zapplication this year, we’ve decided to hold off until next year.

For this year, the application process will follow the same format and process we’ve used previously. You can stop by the visitor center during regular business hours to pick up an application or apply online at https://www.yanceychamber.com/crafts-fair

Please note that for this year, we are downsizing our food area and will be featuring local food trucks only.

Applications close April 30th, 2026.

While we missed him at this year's Crafts Fair, Clarence Gregory of Gregory Knives stopped by the visitor center today! He walked us through his knife-making process, bringing in each stage and giving us a glimpse of the incredible craftsmanship it takes to create his work. 🔪✨ We’re so excited to have him join us at next year’s Crafts Fair and can’t wait to see his artistry on full display!

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank our incredible vendors, musicians, dedicated volunteers, and the thousands of visitors who made this year’s Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair such a success. Your hard work, talent, and support are what make this event so special year after year.💛

Mark your calendars! Next year’s fair will be held August 7 & 8, 2026 in beautiful Burnsville, NC!

We’re excited to announce that we will be using ZAPPlication for next year’s vendor applications, so stay tuned for the official opening date.

Until then, thank you for being part of this amazing tradition. We can’t wait to see you again next year, hopefully with no rain!

Although it's a little cooler today at the Mt. MItchell Crafts Fair, if your puppy pal needs some water or just a place to relax for a little bit, stop on by the Yancey County Humane Society spot on the town square to give your 4-legged friend a break, and maybe some pals to play with.

🐾 Dogs at the Crafts Fair! 🐾
We’re happy to welcome well-mannered, leashed dogs to the Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair! Just a reminder to keep your furry friends leashed at all times and be mindful of hot asphalt temperatures throughout the day.
To help our four-legged guests beat the heat, the Yancey County Humane Society will be hosting a cooling-off station at Booth #226 on the Town Square! 🐶
Stop by for:
✔️ Shade and water
✔️ Treats for pups
✔️ YCHS merchandise for sale
A big thank you to the Humane Society for offering this thoughtful service! Enjoy these cutie faces who are currently available for adoption. Stop by their shelter, located at 211 Kind Hearts Wy to learn more about them!

Overflow parking will be at the Burnsville Plaza where Samaritan’s Purse is located. Shuttles will be running continuously on both days, Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 8am-6:30pm, making stops at both lots.

Here’s a handy map showing where visitors can park for the Mount Mitchell Crafts Fair!

The entrance to the Crafts Fair on South Main Street is just a short walk across U.S. Highway 19E from the parking area but we’ve got you covered if you need a lift!🚐

We’re offering a FREE, handicap-accessible shuttle service to safely transport visitors across the street to the entrance, running both days.

Looking for handicap parking? Turn left onto South Main St and an immediate left turn, generously organized and managed by Boy Scouts Troop 502 and their Scoutmaster. Huge thanks to them for their help!
