ATTENTION VERMONT CITY MARATHON RUNNERS!

There are a handful of fundraising bibs available for VCM runners this year who are interested in raising money for The Alzheimer's Association. If you're planning on running at VCM this year, please consider signing up for one of these bibs. There are 2 bibs available for two-person relay teams, 2 bibs available for 3-5 person relay teams, and 1 bib available for a full marathon runner. While there is no minimum fundraising amount required, it is recommended to raise at least $500 for a single runner, $750 for a two-person team, and $1,000 for a 3-5 person team.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last year for the first Shortest Run for The Longest Day event to support the Alzheimer's Association. Due to COVID-19, we can't be together in person for this event this year. However, your support is still needed.

Please join us for a VIRTUAL event on June 20th to show your support. You can choose any distance you'd like. Not a runner? That's okay, you can choose any activity (perhaps walking, biking, kayaking, hiking, etc....) Consider wearing purple, take lots of pictures, and show your support by sharing on social media using the hashtags or .

Consider dedicating your action to someone you love who's impacted by this disease by painting a rock purple, putting their name on it, and leaving it somewhere on your path along the way.

There is no need to sign up for this event and you can complete your activity anytime. Donations can be made on our Longest Day page. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. However, we understand that this is a hard time for many. If you can't provide a donation at this time, we understand and support you in that decision. You are still welcome and encouraged to join and participate on June 20th to show your support.

 'The Shortest Run For The Longest Day' is an annual fundraising event for the Alzheimer's Association.  Thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's and other dementia-related diseases through various activities.

We hope you plan on staying with us after the run. These awesome co****le boards, along with some other great prizes, will be available for raffle. There will also be food trucks and live music courtesy of the Medicine Tribe Trio.

Don't forget to join use for our Bib Pickup Party this Thursday from 5:30 - 8:00 at Switchback. If you have not yet registered, you can register in person at this event and pick up your bib while you're there.

Dale Boca and Caja Madera food trucks will be on site after the run. Additional donuts from the The Dizzy Dozen will also be available for purchase.

We are also going to have a great raffle, including a custom made Co****le board with The Longest Day logo on it and some great prizes from Fleet Feet. And, we'll have some games to play including Kan Jam and Co****le.

Don't forget to bring some cash with you for food and the raffle. We can't wait, this is going to be a great event for a great cause!

Grab a beer, meet up with some friends, and get yourself registered for The Shortest Run For The Longest Day. A portion of all sales for the evening will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association thanks to the Switchback Gives Back program.

We'd like to take a moment to once again thank Switchback Brewing Company for their support for this event. Thanks to their Switchback Gives Back program, a portion of sales on all Thursdays throughout the month of May will be donated to this fundraiser. We're planning some additional events on those days, stay tuned for more details!

Get your purple on and come join us for this fun run in the fight against Alzheimer's disease at The Shortest Run For The Longest Day. The Longest Day is a fundraising and awareness event for the Alzheimer's Association that occurs each year on or around the Summer Solstice. Thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's and other dementia-related diseases through various activities in support of The Longest Day.

There will be two options for this FUN run. Option 1 is a .5k run (yes there is a decimal in front of that). Option 2 is a 2.62 mile "full marathon" run. Both races will begin and end at Switchback Brewery and will feature a "water" stop with with milk and donuts at the turnaround point. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to stop and enjoy your donut as this is not a timed event. Be sure to stick around after the race and have a little fun with us at the brewery. Food and drink is not included with your donation, but $1 from every pint sold during the event will be donated to the cause and there will be food trucks available to purchase food.

Please note that this is a donation based event. There is no fee to register. The recommended minimum donation per participant is $10. A button to complete your donation will be available on your registration confirmation page. The link to the donation site will also be in the registration confirmation email.
