Thanks to everyone who brought used batteries and cell phones to Vermont VegFest! Together, we collected 60lbs (wow!) of items for Call2Recycle. Diverting materials that can be recycled away from the landfill is a big part of our mission, and we work hard to make sure our events are as environmentally friendly as possible.

We’re so grateful to Call2Recycle for their support in helping us keep Vermont VegFest green and low-waste. To learn more about how you can continue to recycle your used batteries and phones, visit their website at call2recycle.org.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first Vermont VegFest! We’re so grateful to the vendors who came from Vermont and beyond, and to the attendees who traveled from Vermont plus 23 other states and 5 countries to be with us. We’re proud to have created a little burst of vegan tourism in Burlington last week, and we know the vendors and local restaurants are thankful too. We met so many people who came to town just for the event (cross country flights, even!), which still feels kind of mind-blowing!

VegFests are proof that veganism is for everyone, and at Vermont VegFest we celebrated that with delicious sweets and treats, flavorful meals from local restaurants and food pop-ups, generous samples from food producers, and gorgeous goods from artists and makers. Most importantly, we amplified the voices of rescues and sanctuaries working every day for the animals.

Not only did we spend the day celebrating a compassionate lifestyle, but with your help we also:
🥦 Supported lots of vegan and vegan-friendly businesses.
🥦 Wiped out the book swap (you really brought out the fancy vegan cookbooks!)
🥦 Gave away stacks of free magazines and info from .
🥦 Collected a TON of batteries for recycling with Call2Recycle.
🥦 Kept compost, recycling, and trash sorted thanks to our amazing Waste Warriors from CSWD.

All of this happened against the backdrop of Hula, one of the most beautiful venues in Burlington.

You made a difference by showing up. Please keep showing up: at other New England area VegFests hosted by our friends, at local community pop-ups, and at the Vegan in Vermont monthly book club at Fletcher Free Library. Thanks again for coming to the plant party, and we hope to see you soon!
