A life of character – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is a beacon for the the rest of humanity as to what that can mean. This quote is from his article entitled, “The Purpose of Education” for the Morehouse College paper, Maroon Tiger. He was 18 years old when he wrote it.

On Martin Luther King Day, perhaps one of the best things we can do to celebrate his legacy is to reflect deeply Dr. King’s words. Whether you choose this quote or one of the many that will emerge as you scroll through the day, ask yourself how Dr. King lends meaning to your life and how that meaning informs your actions.

It’s that time of year again: the time when The Internet directs your attention to all the things you need to do to succeed over the next 12 months.

In case you need to hear it, there is no decree mandating that you do things in any particular way. Next year is wide open and you can approach it any way you want.

This post offers another take on “crushing 2021.”

It’s that time again. It’s time to begin planning and making resolutions for the new year. But what does it mean to "Crush 2021"?

Psychology Today, is a form of knowledge that appears in consciousness without obvious deliberation. It's when you just, KNOW, you know? Take a look at this piece by Lee Ruggles. She's experienced a thing or two and knows the value of trusting your intuition.

Inutition: It can be defined as a feeling, an inkling, or a sense of foreboding. It’s not something that can be defined by a formula.

Two thoughts on moderation:
1) All things in moderation - including moderation.
2) In this time of polarization on so many fronts, consider these wise words in an old play, "It is no mean happiness, therefore, to be seated in the mean."
Nerissa to Portia, William Shakespeare, Merchant of Venice (1.2.7-8)

Do you need a better night’s sleep or just time away from certain activities, thoughts, or people? This post asks three questions to help you determine the type of rest you may need.

Although not always obvious, not getting the right amount and the right kind of rest can hold you back from your personal growth goals.

It’s Labor Day! Thank you to the labor unions who have endeavored to create fair and equitable work environments for working people across the US.

Labor Unions have helped to create 40-hour work weeks, weekends, paid vacations, sick leave, and work breaks (you know, like lunch!).

A year ago today, the Character Conference came into being and A Life of Character was soon to follow. A lot can happen in a year. Character keeps getting us through.

There's a lot of talk about the new "normal." Considering that this year is gut-wrenching and exhausting in a weird number of ways, why in the world would we want to call it "normal?" What if we could reset and create something better than normal?

But if we can use the best of what we’ve done with the best of what we’re doing, we can lead ourselves out of these woods just fine

2020 has been putting all of us through the freakin’ wringer. It’s exhausting. But this year is also full of hope and potential. Try to hold on to that bit, too.

"Our intuition shapes our actions and reactions, which shapes our experiences, which, in turn, develops our intuition."
- Kelechi Udoagwu

Intuitive characters are adaptable. We find it easier to react to situations right in front of us. We draw our strength from within.
