Register and pay before June 1 to receive a **$100 discount** for competing BOTH DAYS at the 2026 Smoke on the River BBQ Competition, Sept. 5-6 at Kelley Park in Burlington, Kansas!
Don’t miss one of the Midwest’s premier Labor Day Weekend BBQ events featuring a KCBS-sanctioned DOUBLE Masters competition with more than **$19,250 in prize money** up for grabs!
🏆 Event Highlights:
• Two separate Masters Competitions (Saturday & Sunday)
• Categories: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork & Brisket
• Kids Q Competition Saturday night (ages 10 & under and 11–16)
• $1,500 Grand Champion prize EACH DAY
• Payouts through 7th place in every meat category
• Medals, plaques & custom trophies awarded
• Thursday/Friday setup available

UPDATE 8/28 (16:55 pm) ALMOST THERE!! We still have 23 teams signed up for Saturday and 25 teams on Sunday. I have a local team that agreed to cook if we need only one more team. So, we need ONE MORE TEAM ON SATURDAY to be a qualifier. REGISTRATION IS OPEN. Go to smokeontheriverbbq.org for an online registration and a link to pay online.

Smoke on the River BBQ Competition has some really cool trophies this year. Registration remains open for both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday needs 2 more teams to be a qualifier. Sunday already is a qualifier. Go to smokeontheriverbbq.org

UPDATE 8/27 (14:55 pm) - OFFICIAL DECISION CHANGED - we just learned from KCBS that our Sunday contest is considered to be our new contest and is now a qualifier (needing 15 teams). As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, we have 23 teams signed up for Saturday and 24 teams on Sunday, which means we need TWO MORE TEAMS FOR SATURDAY (preferably 3 or 4 more teams in case a team fails to make turn-in for all categories). REGISTRATION IS OPEN. Go to smokeontheriverbbq.org for an online registration and a link to pay online. Sorry for the confusion, but we are relaying what we are being told.
