1817 Film Studios is a boutique independent film production studio in the Burbank Media District. We are seeking professional resumes from candidates interested in diving into pre-production with us on currently in-development projects. Our current project is a character-driven drama with talent attached; project will be pitched for development and financing (which in turn will lead to paid work with the studio).
About the job:
This is the opportunity to get in on the ground floor with an enterprising production development company with lots of upward potential. The studio is helmed by Producer/Director, Steve Hanneman. With over 20 years of film/television experience and numerous producing credits to his name, his mission for the studio is to bring compelling stories from unknown writers to the screen and to create a thriving environment for passionate creatives to collaborate and, in short, get. s**t. done.
You: Talented, driven and passionate about film. You would assist with all aspects of pre-production and project development; including analyzing the latest industry trends and interfacing on media platforms such as Google, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, LA Casting, etc. as well as focusing on networking initiatives and gearing the studio in the right direction to attract the talent we need to get our projects made. You will gain experience in all aspects of development and production while having a good time with a creative team.
Skills needed:
Personable and attentive as you will be required to interface often with with clients, actors, producers, directors, media, etc. Self-guided, self-motivated, and engaging with sense of humor is essential as you will often times be called on to represent the studio owner.
Compensation:
This is currently an unpaid role, though includes access to our studio space, production offices and a creative hub/team to call home while working towards financing (which will get everyone paid!). Ideally you do freelance work and/or have flexible income that allows you time and space to work on creative projects that feed your soul (and will hopefully feed your bank account as we all work together on the common goal of getting our projects out the door and on the screen).
