In this course we will expand and explore your awareness of Shakespeare’s text by examining the clues Shakespeare provides that are key to understanding and performing his work. Through group exercises and monologues you will learn the basics of text analysis and rhetoric, and how to apply these tools to your acting not only wi

th Shakespeare but with all classical and contemporary text. The course will also cover the topics of scansion, antithesis, phrasing, and imagery. Franc has enjoyed acting, directing and teaching professionally for over 35 years. He was formerly the Co-Artistic Director of the award winning Encore Theatre Co. in San Francisco and a Co-Founder and former Associate-Artistic Director of the acclaimed FreightTrain Shakespeare. Franc is a graduate of the America Conservatory Theatre's MFA program.
