An idea turns into a dream real quickly. A dream can turn into a commitments. And my commitment was to give my city a no nonsense heavy death metal show. Well, that turned into branding a yearly death fest. All 10 (sans my band) bands mean something to me, that something is a great ordeal. Slamology was my wild card, only one song on slam worldwide. God damn was I ever sold. Their goofiness more than delivered a fun time during their set. Every band helped to some fashion and can’t possibly take all the credit. Whether it was gear sharing, ideas of what bands to contact, or flat out giving random advice someone did something. We did this as a TEAM. 130 death metal sickos were at having a good, fun time. The venue employees were so kind, hard working and understanding. It was a huge undertaking never running a fest on my own. I’ve done local shows but nothing to this extent. The heart and desire I have is immeasurable and was more than motivated to make this work for EVERYONE. Selfishness gets you nowhere. Thank you for those who showed up. Thank you to the bands who took me seriously and more than delivered live. Thank you to the venue for letting me use your space for my crazy idea. Thank you tot the fans for attending and supporting the bands. I saw a ton of that and makes me happy. EVERYBODY INVOLVED we pulled this off. I’m so grateful my city showed up for death metal. For those who missed the classic “Day of Death” lineups I’m here to usher in a new generation. Also attached is a picture with the mastermind of .gate . did these sick swirly photos. And the bands are solid people. So proud of what WE accomplished. I’ll see you all in 2027 with an even sicker and more brutal lineup.
