Shea’s Arts Engagement and Education is now seeking applications from arts educators, industry professionals, and/or qualified theatre artists from all across Western New York to be adjudicators for the 2026-2027 Shea’s Wonder Awards!✨
ㅤ
Our adjudicators are volunteers who agree to travel to select high schools throughout the region to provide scoring and feedback for different musical theatre productions using tools and rubrics provided for them. All adjudicators are reimbursed for their travel! Selected individuals are required to attend one mandatory training session led by the staff of Shea’s Arts Engagement and Education. Each adjudicator must only attend 3-5 productions per year.

Inspired by Buena Vista Social Club and honoring Hispanic Heritage Month-this vibrant happy hour brings people together through music, dance, and conversation. Enjoy live Cuban son, salsa rueda, food and drinks while connecting across professions, cultures, generations.

Creative Exchange: A community engagement and relationship-building initiative that positions Shea's as a cultural connector by bringing together artists, professionals, educators, community leaders, and emerging creatives through themed networking experiences. The series creates opportunities to connect across industries, generations, and perspectives while exploring the role of the arts in strengthening community and inspiring collective impact.

Alicia's passion and dedication continue to expand access to the arts by creating meaningful programs and impactful experiences for diverse communities throughout Buffalo and the surrounding region. Her commitment to arts education and community engagement inspires those around her and helps make the arts more accessible for all.

We are wrapping up day three of our Shea's Summer Musical Theatre Intensive and the infamous Grand Lobby warm up happened today! Thank you Mr. Ethan for leading such a fun and nostalgic warm up activity!

WE ARE So TICKLED! Althea Castro de la Mata from WKBW Channel 7 News stopped by yesterday to check out Comedy on Cue, our first camp of the summer season! Comedy on Cue, a week long camp, allows young artists to join the Shea's comedy writer’s room and take a deep dive into joke structure, improvisation, and sketch comedy. Actors and writers will create a series of sketches all packed with punch lines on CUE! A final performance in the Shea's Smith Theatre let's family and friends join in on the fun! Recapping the past few days of The Jimmy Awards! Jane and Jonah participated in coaching sessions for preliminary auditions, learned the opening number, went to Carmines for dinner, and got to see MJ the Musical on Broadway! The ceremony is just 4 days away and we can’t wait to see them shine on the Minskoff Theatre stage.✨❤️🌟
