This afternoon, it was great to kick off Juneteenth celebrations with the annual Juneteenth flag raising in Niagara Square alongside Juneteenth of Buffalo Festival President Carrone Evon Crump and the festival’s dedicated Board of Directors as they celebrate the festival’s 50th anniversary.

Their leadership and commitment have helped make Buffalo’s Juneteenth celebration one of the largest and longest-running in the nation. I want to thank everyone who has helped build, grow, and sustain this important tradition over the past 50 years.

📢 JUNETEENTH PARADE UPDATE 📢

Juneteenth Festival Inc. has heard the concerns of the community and has taken steps to address them regarding youth participation in this year's parade.

To enhance safety, organization, and visibility, all youth participating in Division 5 will now fall in behind each parade division as the procession moves along Genesee Street. This adjustment will help ensure our youth are seen alongside our community leaders, organizations, businesses, and institutions that help shape our community while highlighting the important role they play in our future.

📍 Judging Stage: 1464 Genesee Street�
📍 Viewing Stage: Between Best Street & Genesee Street

We appreciate the feedback and support from our community as we work together to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and successful Juneteenth celebration for everyone.
