🚴♂️ Throwback Thursday
Tour de Gap started back in 1983 as a simple community ride through the scenic hills of Buffalo Gap.
No big production.
No major sponsors.
Just a group of cyclists coming together for the love of the ride.
In the early 2000s, something meaningful happened…
Tour de Gap began partnering with local nonprofits—turning a great ride into a way to give back to the community.
A big part of that shift was driven by the owner of BikeTown, your favorite family owned and operated bike shop, who helped lead the effort to connect the ride with causes that make a real impact.
Since then, this incredible cycling community has helped support local organizations like the West Central Texas Food Bank, Big Brothers Big Sisters Abilene, and now Presbyterian Medical Care Mission.
💙 What started as a ride… has become a tradition with purpose. And it’s all because of the people who show up year after year.
We’d love to hear from you 👇
