One of our wonderful groups could use some support!
To our wonderful community and supporters,
We are writing to share some difficult but necessary news. Effective immediately, Hanks Legacy Foundation will be closing to all new intakes until further notice.
This was not an easy decision, but it is the only way we can continue to provide the level of care our current dogs deserve.
We are currently facing a "perfect storm" of challenges that have pushed our resources to their absolute limit:
• Adoptions have stalled: Our current residents are waiting longer than ever to find their forever homes.
• A rise in returns: We’ve seen a heartbreaking increase in dogs being returned for reasons that are no fault of their own. This places an emotional and physical strain on our team and our foster space.
• Funding & Fosters: Donations have slowed significantly, and without more foster homes and financial support, we simply cannot bring in more animals.
• Personal Capacity: Our Board of Directors and core volunteers are currently navigating significant personal life events. To prevent complete burnout, we must prioritize our existing pack.
How You Can Help Us Reopen
We want to get back to saving lives as soon as possible, but we need the following to happen first:
1. Adopt: If you’ve been thinking about adding a furry member to your family, now is the time. View our available dogs here: www.hankslegacyfoundation.org
2. Donate: Every dollar helps us cover food, supplies, and medical costs for the dogs still in our care.
If you’d like to donate you can do so via
Zelle (612)709-4559
Venmo (pick the business account)
PayPal
Credit debit - hankslegacyfoundation.org
3. Share: Even if you can’t adopt, sharing our dogs’ profiles helps them get seen by the right person.
We are so grateful for those of you who have stuck by us. Our focus right now is getting our current dogs into the loving homes they deserve. Once our numbers have decreased and our resources have stabilized, we look forward to opening our doors again.
With heavy but hopeful hearts,
The HLF Board of Directors
