🎯❤️ WHAT AN AMAZING SEASON FOR OUR SWAIN COUNTY 4-HERS! ❤️🎯

Help us brag on the Swain County Bullets & Bows 4-H Club! These hardworking young people have had an incredible season, and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments, dedication, and sportsmanship! 🏆👏

Ten members traveled to Ellerbe, NC, on October 3 to compete in the 2026 NC 4-H Shooting Sports Tournament, after qualifying at the West District Tournament in August.

🥇 A special congratulations to Creed Monteith, who earned 1st Place Individual in Junior Sh***un and 1st Place Overall, and Carter Perkins, who earned 4th Place Individual in Junior Sh***un! Way to go!

❤️ A HUGE thank-you to the parents and families who provide support, our coaches and volunteers who give their time and knowledge, our sponsors—Anderson Contracting Inc., Taylor Family Construction, and William Morris—and everyone who cheered these 4-Hers on throughout the season. Your support makes a difference!

Our 4-Hers have represented Swain County with pride, and we are so proud of all they’ve accomplished this season!

Our favorite contest is back! 📣 The 2026-2027 Swain SWCD Bookmark Contest is here, and this year's theme is "Soil & Water, Yours for Life". Participants design a bookmark inspired by the theme for a chance to win prizes and see their artwork printed and shared in the community. Free themed lessons and materials are available October-January to help hit those NC Standards in science, social studies, art, and ELA! Hey, didn't we see these amazing photos at the fair this year?!! So excited to see them again as entries in the annual state 4-H photography contest. Best of luck to these 4-Hers!!

📸 Quick Reminder: the 2026 Dr. Kim Ingold NC 4-H Photography Contest Premiere is almost here!

This year, the contest received 532 entries from 68 different counties! WOW! The premiere will showcase every photograph and celebrate the creativity and talents of 4-H youth and adults across North Carolina.
