The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center celebrates and preserves the region’s music, culture, history, and natural landscapes by creating immersive experiences that inspire, educate, and connect West Tennessee’s unique stories. Inside visitors can learn about the history of cotton, explore the scenic and “wild” Hatchie River and get to know the legendary musicians who called West Tennessee home.

Also located on the grounds is Flagg Grove School, the childhood school of Tina Turner, and the last home of Blues pioneer Sleepy John Estes. To learn more about the Center, visit http://www.westtnheritage.com or call 731-779-9000.

You’ll find this striking stage costume worn during her stage performance of “We Don’t Need Another Hero.” It’s inspired by her unforgettable look in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

John Kilzer, born in Jackson TN, first rose to prominence as a standout basketball player before turning to music and writing. While attending Memphis State University, he began developing his songwriting, encouraged by Mabon ‘Teenie’ Hodges.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of one of Haywood County’s greatest champions, Patrick Mann.

A lifelong resident and generous benefactor, Mr. Pat played a pivotal role in preserving Flagg Grove School and helping bring the Tina Turner Museum to life. Because of his vision and generosity, this project became a reality far sooner than anyone imagined.

His love for his hometown and his commitment to making Haywood County a better place to live can be seen around every corner of our community. His impact will continue to be felt for generations to come.

We are forever grateful. 🤍
