I don’t care who ya are or what ya got! If you get out there and have a good time and smile the entire time doing it im going to cheer you on! If you’re having a hard time and frustrated I’m going to try and help pick ya up! Speaking from a guy working his way out of the bottom! Just show up and race and have fun that’s what all of this is about yes theirs competition yes theirs high dollar opponents sometimes but have fun anyway learn to enjoy the ride, you entering the race is already more than most do and what a life to live!!! Life’s short don’t not do something because you don’t have as much as the next guy. Ive had to learn this myself, and you know what I havnt looked back I’ve been having a blast!!! lol
Let’s talk about something….
I see the comment “I can’t compete against these racers with all this money!” or something along those lines. And I see it all the time!
Now,I do not know each of these racers personal lives in detail if at all and definitely dont know their financial situations,But what I can say is that I have seen 95% of the ones who are winning these days come from the bottom. I don’t mean that in a bad way,All I mean is that I have seen them race stock machines years ago and stick with it and racing became what they wanted to do so that’s where they invested their money/winnings/etc. Most of them built their stuff over time,And then with their consistency they’ve gotten sponsored and so on. Thats just the way it works in generally all types of racing,Not just mud racing. You start at the bottom and if you commit to it eventually you’ll make it to the top. I have personally observed this exact thing many, many times in bounty hole racing. Yes,There are a few that just pop out of nowhere witha $100,000 build and start racing…but rarely.
I have also personally seen many, many times of a less experienced racer and/or machine win against a seasoned racer. They don’t just show up and automatically win. They still have to have their machine running right,And they’ve still got to send it just as hard as anyone else to get that fastest time. They don’t always have this happen. It’s just part of racing also.
If you truly want to race. You will. Instead of spending $500 on golf clubs or whatever other hobbies are out there,You’ll be upgrading your machine so that it’s better for the next race and just that much more capable of winning against “the big money people” as yall like to call them.
Last thing I’ll say,Most of these “big time/big money” racers are really good people that have helped alot of new racers and would love nothing more than to see you do well at it! I have seen a lot of them help people fix their machines between runs, advise new racers on what line to take or how to drive a particular hole and just so many different things.
To add on: I did not mean this negatively. I just hate seeing people being discouraged/discouraging others to race because they think they can’t compete with the more expensive builds because YES YOU CAN! That’s all I meant with this whole post is that YES YOU CAN and YES YOU SHOULD if that’s what you truly want to do. I promise you I’ve seen it happen and you can absolutely do it yourself. It may take time,But it’ll happen!
