The New Year's Eve Trek 5K & 10K in Broken Bow, OK, was a brutal test of grit and determination. Set in the unforgiving Ouachita Mountains, runners faced rocky trails, steep hills, and technical terrain that pushed them to their limits. 🏞️💥 With 750 feet of elevation per 5K loop, this course didn’t make things easy.
The cold morning air didn’t stop the warriors from charging through the Tree Trail and Lookout Mountain Loop. 🏃♂️❄️ The clock ticked down to the 2.5-hour cutoff, and those who crossed the finish line earned a stainless steel travel mug and bragging rights. 🏅
The race was filled with fierce competition, from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards to the Old Timer’s Award and the infamous “Dead Freakin’ Last” award. 💪🔥
With volunteers cheering them on, this event was a true test of spirit and stamina. 🌟 Whether you finished first or last, you walked away a champion of the Ouachita mountains in Broken Bow OK!
