People ask us all the time why we aren’t open year-round… and truthfully, we’d love to be. ❤️
We absolutely love hayride season. We love the excitement, the chaos, the laughter, and sharing our little corner of the world with all of you. It keeps us on our toes and fills our hearts in ways hard to explain.
But the truth is… this is a real working farm.
When our gates close to visitors, that doesn’t mean the work stops. In many ways, it’s just beginning.
One thing many people don’t realize is that we don’t simply purchase feed for our animals. The feed our cows eat is the result of our own hard work. The hay, the corn silage, the crops in the field… those are all things we plant, grow, harvest, haul, and store ourselves.
Every bale of hay and every load of silage represents long days in the fields, chasing weather windows, fixing equipment, and racing daylight.
During spring, we’re planting corn and harvesting hay. Midsummer, we plant pumpkins, sunflowers, and our mums. Then the long days of harvesting continue all the way into fall as we work to bring in feed for the animals and prepare the farm for another season.
We also spend countless hours helping neighboring farms with their harvests too, because farming has always been a community that shows up for one another.
So while you may not see us open to the public during those months, please know we’re still out there working sunup to sundown growing the very experience you all come to love each fall.
We joke that we may lose our minds out in those fields… but somehow, we find our souls too.
And before we know it, September rolls around, the pumpkins turn orange, the mums and sunflowers bloom, the air changes, and we get to do it all over again with all of you.
We’ll officially reopen the last weekend of September, and trust us when we say…
We cannot wait to see you all again. 🌻🚜🎃
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who helped make our Spring Season a success❤️
We would love to see pics of your favorite moments!
