Since Cameo Theatre's 100th birthday last March, we have kept the space full of laughter, tears, and live theatre!

✨ On March 30, 2025, we celebrated 100 years with the Cameo Theatre grand reopening! We also launched the Cameo Capital Arts Campaign.
✨ In April, we threw it back to Theatre Bristol's beginnings with "Land of Jesters & Rumpelstiltskin." Our cast of children and youth christened the stage, just as Cathy always intended.
✨ In May, we were moved by "Steel Magnolias" and hit record attendance.
✨ In June, we held our first StART of Adventure Summer Camp performance in the space with more than 50 student performers.
✨ In September, Hoot & Holler Storytelling entertained during Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion.
✨ In October, we spent time with old friends with "The Odd Couple."
✨ Also in October, Theatre Bristol Youth Academy relaunched with "Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! Jr."
✨ In December, "Yes, Virginia, There Is Santa Claus" Live Radio Play reminded us of the good that exists, when we look for it.

Charlotte's Web opened the 2026 Cameo Theatre season and wrapped up the first full year of Theatre Bristol at the Cameo. Be a part of history! Attend, audition, and get involved at theatrebristol.org.

"... nobody ever forgot the year of his triumph and the miracle of the web. Life in the barn was very good-night and day, winter and summer, spring and fall, dull days and bright days. It was the best place to be, thought Wilbur, this warm delicious cellar, with the garrulous geese, the changing seasons, the heat of the sun, the passage of swallows, the nearness of rats, the sameness of sheep, the love of spiders, the smell of manure, and the glory of everything." ~ E.B. White, "Charlotte's Web"

We won't ever forget how this spring 2026 was the best place to be, together, sharing the glory of this story with incredible audiences over three weekends!

CONGRATULATIONS to the cast and crew of Theatre Bristol's production of "Charlotte's Web"—on a terrific run at the Cameo Theatre!

"I shall begin by calling the roll. Wilbur?"
"Here!" said the pig.
"Gander?"
"Here, here, here!" said the gander.
"You sound like three ganders," muttered Charlotte. "Why can't you just say 'here'? Why do you have to repeat everything?"
"It's my idio-idio-idiosyncrasy," replied the gander."
"Beebee-bee! " said the goslings.
"He-aa-aa!" answered the sheep all together.
"He-aa-aa!" answered the lambs all together.
"Thank you very much," said Charlotte. "Now I called this meeting in order to get suggestions. If anybody can think of another message, or remark, I'll be glad to weave it into the web. Any suggestions for a new slogan?"
"How about 'Pig Supreme'?" asked one of the lambs.
"No good," said Charlotte. "It sounds like a rich dessert."

Thank goodness for Charlotte's editing as well as writing skills or "Pig Supreme" would have resulted in a whole different story! 🐖🐖🐖

A special thank you to new Theatre Bristol patron and sponsor, Friendship Cars, for helping us bring this story to the stage!

"People came from miles around to look at Wilbur and to read the words on Charlotte's web. The Zuckermans' driveway was full of cars and trucks from morning till night-Fords and Chevvies and Buick roadmasters and GMC pickups and Plymouths and Studebakers and Packards and De Sotos with gyromatic transmissions and Oldsmobiles with rocket engines and Jeep station wagons and Pontiacs." 🚗🛻🚙🚌🚐🚗🛻🚙🚌🚐🚗🛻🚙🚌🚐🚗🛻🚙🚌🚐

"The news of the wonderful pig spread clear up into the hills, and farmers came rattling down in buggies and buckboards, to stand hour after hour at Wilbur's pen admiring the miraculous animal. All said they had never seen such a pig before in their lives."

People are coming from miles to line up and see Theatre Bristol's production of Charlotte's Web at the Cameo Theatre for only two more chances to see the miraculous pig!

"Lurvy! " he called. "There is to be no more cow manure thrown down into that pigpen. I have a terrific pig. I want that pig to have clean, bright straw every day for his bedding. Understand?"
"Yes, sir," said Lurvy.
"Furthermore," said Mr. Zuckerman, "I want you to start building a crate for Wilbur. I have decided to take the pig to the County Fair on September sixth. Make the crate large and paint it green with gold letters! "
"What will the letters say?" asked Lurvy.
"They should say Zuckerman's Famous Pig."

Theatre Bristol is very nostalgic about using pieces from previous productions! "Charlotte's Web" has been performed at Theatre Bristol in 2015, 2007, 2001, 1997, 1993, and 1989. While most items have been created from scratch by our talented team for this production, the Zuckerman sign, Charlotte's web and egg sac, Wilbur's medal, the trough and buckets have been lovingly brought back for this 2026 production.

A special thank you to new Theatre Bristol patron and sponsor, New Peoples Bank, for helping us bring this story to the stage!

"Such an adorable show!" DF

"Humor jibes with poignancy, life balances with death, and morals tip-toe among lessons learned. Expect peals of laughter, easy grins, and perhaps an irrepressible tear or two." TN

"We spent the afternoon at the Cameo Theater watching Charlotte’s Web by Theatre Bristol, ... Watching kids bring a story like that to life just hits different....But I’ll be honest… I cried.
Reading the Director’s Note.
During the play.
And especially at the end.
When Charlotte gave everything she had… and then quietly let go.
And when out of 514, just a few chose to stay.
It hit me in a way I didn’t expect." TF

"What a great show!" GO
