The Freak Rangers are headed to Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion for their debut appearance, Sept. 11-13, 2026! ⚡🎶

The Freak Rangers began with the duo, Timbo Sims and John McBroom who wanted to explore the folkier side of things. They started in 1995 playing various coffee houses and filling opening slots for other local and regional bands. The pair enjoyed seeking new challenges in the acoustic realm which inspired a few songs that occasionally make it to the stage today.

Fast forward nearly 30 years, and the Freak Rangers now consist of a mixture of musicians rehashing old tunes and creating new material. The collective has dusted off some of their favorites and added new flavor found through their experiences along the way. A new project is now in the works, and should be ready for the ears of the public by early Summer 2026. This new energy has the band excited to see what happens in the next chapter of the Freak Rangers.

The Dimestore Cowboys are returning to Historic Downtown Bristol September 11-13, for their fourth appearance at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion! ⚡️🎶

The Dimestore Cowboys are a hard-hitting, six-piece cornerstone of Appalachian sound hailing from Johnson City, TN. Originally formed in 2012, the band has had several stellar line-ups over the years, and just as many unique takes on country music. Lovingly deemed "y'allternative," The Dimestore Cowboys have something real to offer music lovers all over the map.

What began as a group of friends playing in dive bars and crooning in local watering holes, then called JB 5n Dime, has transformed over the last fifteen years, mirroring the energy and styles of its members. The Dimestore Cowboys pull no punches when it comes to delivering fine showmanship and quality sound. Currently, the band is led by vocalist/guitarist Anthony Childress, who co-writes their music with Will Cassell and the only remaining founding member, bassist Jason Shaffer. Jason V***r on keys, Will Cassell on lead guitar, Julia Wilson on fiddle, and Adilene Delgado on drums fill out the country sound with plenty of heavier licks, deep roots, and meaningful solos that add complexity to the already thoughtful lyrics of their music.

Dallas Wayne is returning for his fourth appearance at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion this September 11-13, 2026 ⚡️🎶

Dallas has performed throughout North America and Europe, releasing 13 albums of his own, and performing on various compilation and band recordings including the honky-tonk supergroups Heybale! and the TwangBangers, as well as a Grammy-nominated bluegrass album. He began performing professionally while in school before moving to Nashville, where he developed his vocal style singing demos for the top music publishing houses and began songwriting. While touring Europe in the early '90s, Dallas signed a record deal and soon moved to Scandinavia where he was a staff songwriter for Warner/Chappell Music. After four years living and touring in Europe, Dallas returned to the U.S. and signed with HighTone Records.

He later relocated to Austin, TX, releasing albums on the Koch Nashville and Smith Entertainment labels. In 2016 and 2018 he released a popular collection of classic country songs on two albums, Songs The Jukebox Taught Me, Volume 1 and Volume 2, on Heart of Texas Records. This collection includes duets with Willie Nelson, Jeannie Seely, Darrell and Mona McCall, and Paula Nelson.

Dallas currently lives in Bristol TN/VA, the Birthplace of Country Music.

Erin Lunsford is making her Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion debut this September 11-13 in Historic Downtown Bristol! ⚡️🎶

Erin Lunsford is an award-winning singer/songwriter from the foothills of Appalachia in Fincastle, VA, now based in Richmond, VA. Her music is buttered, pound cake-folk that’s equal parts sweet, delicate, rich, and warm. Erin’s songs are built on a foundation of bluegrass and thoughtful, Blue Ridge Mountain storytelling that showcase her self-styled guitar, banjo, and keyboard melodies.

She's an accomplished writer - just last year, she was a semi-finalist in the Songwriters Guild of America Country Song Contest for her song “Rhinestones.” And she's a titan of voice - her vocals have been described as soulful, expressive, and downright heavenly and her effortless versatility has been compared to Chris Stapleton, YEBBA, and Susan Tedeschi. Launching her new tender, storyteller, roots album in 2026, Lunsford is a rising voice in folk music.
