Yes, I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in the home office lately, and apparently Coal and Harmony have finally decided they can get along well enough to snuggle! 😂

Now, if we could just get our other house cat, Brady, to join them one day!

Last night we had our first frost warning of the season at Pinehurst.

Our gardens are still alive. 🫶They survived last night, but I know this part of the season is coming to an end soon.

This time of year brings up all the feelings: not ready, protective, grateful, tired, a little sad, and already thinking about next year.

Gardeners know. You are not alone.

But that’s alright.

In my 10th birthday era: Smurf garden edition.

This past weekend we got to host the sweetest 10th birthday party at Pinehurst.

The birthday girl wanted a Smurf garden party, and who knew Smurf figurines were collectibles? We had to do a little hunting, but we got them for her.

The kids made their own little Smurf gardens with succulents, stones, moss, and tiny details, and they did such a great job. We finished with Pinehurst Plant Bingo, which they loved.

Such a fun afternoon watching them create, play, and be so proud of what they made.

I really need Meta glasses for moments like this.

Coal and I both heard the noise and froze for a second…. I thought the cats had brought something into the barn.

Coal went to check it out, gave his official growl, then ended up sniffing it and realizing we were all safe.

It was a huge dragonfly, and I handled the rescue with a pool noodle.

Released outside safely. Back to work. Never a dull moment here and wouldn’t change it. lol

A very full-circle Pinehurst kind of day.

We were setting up for a private greenhouse experience while an acoustic Foo Fighters cover played in the background. Later that night, we made it to Mohegan Sun to see Foo Fighters live.

We were questioning whether we were even going to make it to the concert, and I’m so happy we did. They were incredible.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the experience at Pinehurst such a memorable one.

Happy National Black Dog Day.

Couldn’t let the day go by without a post for Pinehurst’s special boy, Coal.

National Black Dog Day was created to bring awareness to black dogs who are often overlooked in shelters. They can get a bad rap and are sometimes passed by simply because they don’t stand out as easily in photos.

Coal is our reminder that sometimes the dog people walk past is the one with the biggest heart. We will always thank Wings of Freedom Animal Rescue for bringing Coal into our lives.

And honestly, I don’t mind the black hair because all I wear is black anyway. lol

Find your balance…

I’m still holding onto the warmth of walking through the greenhouse into the barn for yoga.

Soon the barn floors will be covered in foam to help keep us warmer, and the soft glow of the fireplace will add a new layer to the experience.

But for now, we’re still surrounded by the plants, the gardens, and that little bit of lingering warmth before we settle into the cozier season.

September came and went so quickly, and soon these beautiful blooms we planted (most from seed) will be done for the season. 😭

This past weekend we hosted such a fun game of Plant Bingo at Pinehurst. I didn’t get too many photos of the night- so please feel free to share! 🫶

It was so nice to welcome new faces into the space and see so many familiar ones too. Thank you for continuing to show up, cheer us on, and support these little gatherings we’re growing here.🥰

We would love to host another Plant Bingo soon…. I’m thinking early November, so keep an eye out for the next date.

Just want to let you know this photo is not AI or edited. This succulent legitimately looks like a little gemstone.

Coal is giving full puppy-dog eyes because we’ve been dog sitting for almost two weeks and his buddy went home this morning. So naturally, he is devastated and I am expected to fix it.

I’ve been a little quiet on here, but not because things have been quiet. There has been a lot happening behind the scenes, and I have lots to catch up on and share soon. 🥰

We can’t wait to clip flowers from the garden and get them ready for the arrangements guests will be making. Everyone leaves with something.
