The Bridgewater Student Film Festival is a student-run film festival based out of Bridgewater State University. Our goal is to give young, up and coming filmmakers in both High School and College the opportunity to have their work be seen.

That’s a wrap! Thanks to our very own faculty who were “down to clown” (as Prof. Poplin would say) and have some fun at the 3rd Bridge Student Film Festival yesterday! And thanks again to our incredible two visiting filmmakers—Lisa Olivieri () and Tim O’Donnell ( ) who shared their work and advice and networked with students all day! It was our best year yet with more great things to come!! More photos soon….

Did you know that the Bridge Student Film Festival is not only a festival *for* students, but *by* students? Learn more about the Film Festival Production class taught by Dr. Michele Meek behind the 3rd Annual Bridge Student Film Festival. And come join us on December 2—all events are free!

Thanks, to a Mass Cultural Council grant, this year we will have two professional visiting filmmakers (Lisa Olivieri and Tim O’Donnell)! Plus student films, Q&As, networking sessions, and loads of complimentary food & beverages! More info on our website at: https://bridgestudentfilmfestival.org/ 

Bridge Student Film Festival Schedule of Events
9:30 am – BSU and visiting high school students will have the chance to attend a workshop with our two visiting filmmakers in Moakley Auditorium. Light snacks will be available beforehand.
11:00 am – Screening & Student Filmmaker Q&A with remarks by Dean Brian Payne
Gather in Moakley Auditorium to watch submitted films and hear a student filmmaker Q&A afterwards.
1:00 pm – Food Break + Tours + Photo Ops. (Downtime)
Hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and lunch food will be served for attendees, event workers, and invited filmmakers. Visitors can take selfies at our photo station and take tours of The Moakley Production Hub.
1:30 pm – Professional Filmmaker Panel
An industry panel discussion featuring professional local filmmakers including our visiting filmmakers.
2:30 pm – Award Ceremony & Closing with remarks by Provost Arnaa Alcon
Awards like Best in Show and Best Online Film will be presented.
3:00 pm – Festival Wraps!

This free in person event will include student film screenings; student filmmaker Q&A; a networking session with complimentary hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and beverages; an industry panel discussion on The Art of the Pitch; and an awards event with presentation of the 2nd Annual Bear Award.
