‼️ Your Gmail is often the gateway to everything else, so this one matters.

Google lets you decide what happens to your account if it goes unused for a set time ⏳, & who gets notified or given access. 🔐

⬇️ Here's how:

1️⃣ Go to myaccount.google.com

2️⃣ Search for Inactive Account Manager

3️⃣ Choose how long to wait, add up to 10 trusted contacts, & pick what they can access

💪 You're essentially leaving instructions for your most important digital account, in about the time it takes to make coffee. ☕🎉

This lets someone you trust access your photos, messages, notes, & files if you pass away, legally & without a court order.

Here's how:
1️⃣ Open Settings and tap your name at the top

2️⃣ Tap Sign-In & Security → Legacy Contact

3️⃣ Add the person you trust and share the access key it generates (save a copy somewhere safe!)

Apple, Google, & Facebook have all built free tools that let you name a trusted person to access or manage your account after you're gone. 🎉

Those tools are sitting right there in your settings & most people just don't know they exist. 🤷‍♀️

Think of these as the seatbelts of your digital life: quick to click, & something you hope your family never needs, but so glad it's there if they do. 🤩

A locked iPhone. 📱

That's all it took for one family we know to lose access to a lifetime of photos, messages, & memories after their loved one passed. ❤

❌ Not because anyone did anything wrong, simply because no one had the passcode, & no plan was in place.

Their grief came with a second heartbreak: the digital door was shut, & there was no legal key. 🔐

🤯 This is the part of estate planning almost no one (including many lawyers) thinks about.

But we've seen how a person's digital life can significantly impact their chosen agent's ability to do their job...and make that job more difficult to do.
