Congratulations to Lukas Janulaitis Janulaitis for setting a new record for the RATT50! Lukas completed the course in an incredible 12h 11m 46s on 2024-05-18, shattering the previous record of 17h 25m.

Lukas has brought the record back to Cape Cod, achieving what was thought to be impossible – breaking the 14-hour mark! Facing the most challenging choke point at high tide, his accomplishment is nothing short of extraordinary. How did he do it? It's a mystery!

Hi RATT50 Runners,
Good news! The course is in good shape and ready for you to capture the FKT or enjoy your solo adventure. From today's survey of key points for water, bathroom, and crew access, I noticed the following:
No water or bathroom services at Skaket Beach.
At National Seashore Park (NSP), Marconi Beach access is closed for repairs. No water or bathroom access.
At NSP, Head of the Meadow, beach access is open with drinking water and bathrooms available. However, the parking lot is closed. Crew members can park in the town's parking lot and walk 5 minutes to reach NSP's bathroom facilities.
Most landings on the Inner Cape side do not have porta-potties yet. The last bathroom and water station is in Nickerson State Park. From there, it is an easy 5-mile run to the finish line by the beach.
Overall, everything else looks good. Please plan accordingly.

As runners gear up for the unsanctioned and solo Cape Cod Run Against the Tides challenge, here are some photos of the terrain they'll be navigating. Expect all types of sand and the added challenge of being squeezed by the tides as time passes. There's nothing like the gravitational pull of the Moon to set the cut-off times for this unique run! The run starts with the first low tide on Saturday, 5/18, at 2:16 AM. This course has been designed to be more challenging and thrilling than the ' longest run day and is a perfect course to train for it, all while being rewarded by the beautiful beach and the comfort that the Cape can offer.
