A shame, this would not only have increased the bond, it would have applied to experimental drilling which can be just as damaging as the mining. Thank you Senators Mike Phillips and Christine Kauffmann for trying to protect Montana's rivers.

The Senate Natural Resources Committee voted down a proposal to increase the amount of bonding for metals mines.
