Huge shout out to the Bluegrass Barons and Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball for a wonderful afternoon of baseball at The Old Get Together, and to the amazing LilDRAGON studio for graciously providing us with some AMAZING video footage of the day. Can't wait to share more! ❤️⚾️❤️

We’ve had a little time to rest and reflect, and… we’re already thinking about Year 2. 😶😬🤪

Over the past couple of weeks, we've talked with lots of y’all about what went right, what could be better next time, and some of us organizers have already been chatting and meeting to start shaping next year’s event.

But “better” doesn’t necessarily mean "bigger".

One thing we’ve heard loud and clear is that people loved the intimate feel of the event and the charm of The Potter Farm Events & Wedding Venue—it played a huge part in the good vibes everyone experienced. To preserve that atmosphere, we’re seriously considering keeping the event about the same size next year. That may mean capping ticket sales so it doesn’t feel overcrowded, which brings up some tough questions around growth.

Do we raise ticket prices slightly to allow for more amenities and continued up-leveled music lineup? Or do we keep prices the same and embrace a few limitations? OR if interest is so high do we allow for more tickets and add second day? (this option scares the heck out of me fyi... 1 day was hard enough 😂)

No matter which direction we go, our top priorities are:

• Keeping this an affordable event for families
• Continuing to book top-notch, fantastic music
• Curating an environment and pace that make our vendors enjoy the day

We don’t want to compromise on any of those goals.

That said, there’s still lots of room to grow in ways that don’t impact the crowd size—like expanding the craft market, adding more food options, and continuing to capture the same magic from this year.

One other thing we’re considering: the time of year. We got extremely lucky with the weather this time around, and we’re wondering if an early fall date might give us a better shot at avoiding rain.

Anyway, just wanted to share where our heads are at in these early stages of planning and we hope to keep this a transparent, collaborative effort with y’all.

We’re totally open to suggestions as we start dreaming up what Year 2 could look like. Drop your thoughts or ideas in the comments—we’d love to hear them! ❤️❤️❤️

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! This Saturday was so magical for us and we hope it was for you too. The event went off without too many hitches, the weather was incredible, the vendor market was hoppin', the baseball games were so much fun, and the music was just flat out incredible! We're slightly overwhelmed by the outpouring of support that we had for Old Get Together this weekend; we had about twice the amount of turnout than we expected, (thanks for dealing with some logistical slow spots because of this) and everyone was in such good spirits. Despite some obvious areas of improvements I don't think the day could have gone much better.

There is no way that I could remember all of the people that I need to thank here, SO many people pitched in to make the day a reality, but a few that are the top of my mind are: the folks at the The Potter Farm Events & Wedding Venue who went WAY beyond what they signed up for to help this happen, Jeff Smith for making the music sound incredible, our craft vendors for being so supportive and rolling with our lack of setting-up-a-craft-market experience, ALL of the bands that just brought the event to life, the Rosine Barn Jamboree for the all day pickin' circle, Bluegrass Barons for transporting us back in time with the vintage ballgame, Family Shiloh and friends for doing so much of the set up and tear down, and the Lord for the beautiful weather.

We're still decompressing a bit and I think I've slept more in the past two days than I did in the previous month, but we're already dissecting what we think we went right and what went wrong, and brainstorming what to do next with The Old Get Together. Originally we hadn't planned on this being a yearly event, but so many people have been encouraging us that we're definitely thinking about. Maybe we'll have some small shows off and on through out the year or maybe it'll just be another thing next year... who knows. But we're enjoying pontificating about it.

We're honestly just humbled with the turnout, kind words and support and feel so thankful that we live in such a cool community. THANK YOU!
