Just wanted to say THANK YOU! This Saturday was so magical for us and we hope it was for you too. The event went off without too many hitches, the weather was incredible, the vendor market was hoppin', the baseball games were so much fun, and the music was just flat out incredible! We're slightly overwhelmed by the outpouring of support that we had for Old Get Together this weekend; we had about twice the amount of turnout than we expected, (thanks for dealing with some logistical slow spots because of this) and everyone was in such good spirits. Despite some obvious areas of improvements I don't think the day could have gone much better.
There is no way that I could remember all of the people that I need to thank here, SO many people pitched in to make the day a reality, but a few that are the top of my mind are: the folks at the The Potter Farm Events & Wedding Venue who went WAY beyond what they signed up for to help this happen, Jeff Smith for making the music sound incredible, our craft vendors for being so supportive and rolling with our lack of setting-up-a-craft-market experience, ALL of the bands that just brought the event to life, the Rosine Barn Jamboree for the all day pickin' circle, Bluegrass Barons for transporting us back in time with the vintage ballgame, Family Shiloh and friends for doing so much of the set up and tear down, and the Lord for the beautiful weather.
We're still decompressing a bit and I think I've slept more in the past two days than I did in the previous month, but we're already dissecting what we think we went right and what went wrong, and brainstorming what to do next with The Old Get Together. Originally we hadn't planned on this being a yearly event, but so many people have been encouraging us that we're definitely thinking about. Maybe we'll have some small shows off and on through out the year or maybe it'll just be another thing next year... who knows. But we're enjoying pontificating about it.
We're honestly just humbled with the turnout, kind words and support and feel so thankful that we live in such a cool community. THANK YOU!
