The Summit Shack began originally as a label for creative minds in Bowling Green called The Same Collective. Over time, the idea for a collective label changed, and the Summit Shack was conceived. Early in the Summer of 2017, members of American Spirits along with help from countless friends, emptied and cleaned the garage outside of the home on the corner of N Summit and E Evers, aptly named Ever
est. Over time, the garage began to evolve into a venue, sporting sound proofing, a PA board, countless speakers and monitors, microphones and more. Since then, the Summit Shack has housed over 30 performing acts ranging from comedians, DJ's, live bands, and solo performers. The Summit Shack exists with the same mentality that The Same Collective was founded on. "A collective platform of exposure catered to DJ's, producers, photographers, videographers, bands, comedians and all other performers/artists." With local art being hung from every wall and band stickers in every direction, the Shack also sports 2 open wood panels for attendees to sign with their name or artwork! Above all else, the Summit Shack wishes to create an artistic, open environment free from prejudices and judgements. Striving for an inclusive environment where individuals from every walk of life can exist and express themselves wholeheartedly is the main goal since conception.
