City Ballet of Boston is excited to present Anthony Williams’ Urban Nutcracker! Boston’s original holiday classic will be back for its 20th season and packed with more magic for the whole family. Fusing Tchaikovsky’s classic score with Duke Ellington’s jazz interpretation, Urban Nutcracker puts a modern spin on the 19th Century fairy tale and transports the audience to an enchanted world not unlike their own. Urban Nutcracker delivers classic ballet, urban tap, hip hop, swing, flamenco, step, and a few other surprises that will have your family at the edge of their seats. The diversity Urban Nutcracker delivers in dance and music is matched by the diversity of performers you will see on the stage. Urban Nutcracker is a reflection and celebration of our multi-cultural communities brought to life by passionate and talented dancers and performers of all colors, creeds, sexual orientations and experiences.
