We bring entertainment and programming to a dog-loving audience while promoting positive change in canine welfare at the local, national and global levels.

We are a Massachusetts-based, nonprofit arts initiative dedicated to using film, video, and literature to engage, entertain, and educate our community on the deep—often impenetrable—bonds we have with canine companions.

The Dog Tales International Film Festival brings together passionate filmmakers, film students, writers, and everyday heroes from around the world to share their dog-centric stories with a dynamic and diverse dog-loving audience of all ages including dog owners, pet experts, film industry professionals, rescue organizations, and social change agents.

The Dog Tales International Film Festival expands the Boston area’s rich and vibrant arts & culture scene by bringing high-quality entertainment and programming to a dog-loving audience, while also playing a critical role in improving the quality of life of our canine companions. Every film and video screened at the Dog Tales International Film Festival has a dog or dogs as the central character(s). Our artfully curated content will appeal to audiences of all ages, ranging from family-friendly animation to thought-provoking documentaries. While entertainment is the key driver, we also screen films that shine a light on the darker and more controversial side of global canine welfare. The Dog Tales International Film Festival truly believes that through film and digital storytelling we can promote a greater cultural understanding and a heightened commitment to philanthropy and volunteerism within our community. As such, we will donate a portion of festival proceeds to dog/animal charities and nonprofit organizations that share a similar mission.
