Thanks to everyone who turned out for the Vintage Boat Pier Party yesterday! While the iffy weather kept our beloved parade from happening, it did not dim the incredible history, craftmanship, and dedication that defines this special boating community.
To the owners and crews of our antique boats: You are the living custodians of maritime history. Year after year, you dedicate countless hours to preserving these magnificent vessels. You bring stories of the past to life on the water for all of us to enjoy. Your boats are the heart and soul of this tradition. We applaud your enduring passion and your commitment to keeping this heritage alive.
We also owe an immense debt of gratitude to our hosts - Bristol Marine's Samples Shipyard. This venue is not just a backdrop for a party; it is a cornerstone of our working waterfront and a champion of maritime preservation. Thank you for opening your doors, weathering the logistical shifts with grace (looking at you Ross), and providing a safe place where our community can gather, swap stories and celebrate together.
The parade will return, but last night the best camaraderie was right there in the yellow building. Here's to the timeless beauty of our antique fleet, and to the remarkable shipyard that brings us all together!
Lastly, the event was made complete by the classic cars and motorcycle, some haunted maritime lore, the exceptional spread put on by Mine Oyster and the fabulous performance by the Wharf Cats! We are so lucky to have all of you as part of our community. 💕
