What an amazing day at the NC Wildlife Youth Hunter Education Skills Tournament on Saturday! We had 12 of our kids participate, and we could not be more proud of how each of them performed. Every one of them represented our team so well and did an outstanding job!
A huge congratulations to Jack Moretz for shooting a perfect score in trap, earning him a spot in the shoot-off! He was 1 of only 22 kids to make it into the shoot-off, which is an incredible accomplishment. We are so proud of Jack and how far he has come through his hard work and dedication.
We are incredibly proud of all of our kids and the effort they put in this season. We also want to give a heartfelt thank you to the parents and coaches who stepped up this year to make it all possible. Your time, support, and dedication mean so much to these kids and truly make a difference.
It was a great day all around, and we are so excited to see what comes next for this amazing group!

Hi Team,

Thank you to everyone who attended the parent meeting last week and to those who offered their support—your involvement is what makes this program possible!

We’re excited to announce that the Watauga Hunter Skills Team will officially kick off the season on Sunday, October 19th at 2:00 PM at the Watauga Gun Club (232 Appaloosa Trail).

If your child plans to participate this season, please reach out to me directly by the end of this week. I’ll be sending a follow-up email to confirmed participants with important details about practices, RSO training, range setup, and a SignUpGenius link for volunteer coordination.

After missing last season due to Hurricane Hellene, we’re looking forward to a strong and successful year ahead. Thanks again for your continued support!

***Another Workday at Watauga Gun Club this Sunday November 10th from 1-4pm!
Aidan Plemons has organized a put together this event for his Eagle Scout project. They got a lot of clean up done last weekend but still need some more volunteers this Sunday! Please plan to come out and support Aidan! Support our team!! And support the Watauga Gun Club who graciously hosts our team year after year! Please join us for a great event. We need all your help to get the range ready to start practicing.

Thank you to Aidan Plemons for organizing his Eagle Scout Project for the clean up day at the Watauga Gun Club!! A lot got done with 20+ helpers!! Thank you to all who came out!! Still some work to be done but it’s getting there! Hopefully we can start our team practices soon!!
