To carry a sister into motherhood is a tradition that has never wavered. It transcends cultures, and brings us right back to the village, every time. There’s something unspoken about a baby shower, that leaves me emotional every single time. As much as women have been manipulated to compete with each other, we cannot stop celebrating this incredible transition. That’s how I know the good will survive. That’s why I know community will win.

A big part of Cooper’s “why”, is simply because we believe that everyone is worth celebrating, and deserves to do that in a beautiful setting. In times like these we have to celebrate each other and our bravery, not just our “wins”. Community is how we presevere.
