Today is Family Day at the Festival of Trees!

And that means visits with Santa in North Pole Village, a winter wonderland of trees, wreaths and decor, an interactive LEGO display, live performances, and so much more.

We will be back again tomorrow, November 30 for the final day of the public exhibition.

Festival of Trees returns for its 41st year and marks a beloved tradition that brings our community together to celebrate creativity, generosity, and the spirit of the season.

De, a Festival tree decorator since the event's beginnings, is sharing a few of her favorite decorating tips to help you make your own tree shine this year.

De’s tricks and tips include:

💡 Lighting: More isn’t always better. De shares that about 700–800 lights is the sweet spot for that warm holiday glow.
🌲 Fluff it up! Pull branches in and out to make your tree look naturally full.
🎀 Go for variety: Use three textures of ribbon or garland and three sizes of ornaments for depth and sparkle.
✨ Budget-friendly tip: Cut 6–9 ft garlands into thirds, tuck them in, skip about 10 inches, and continue around the tree for a designer look, without the designer price tag!
💎 Decorating order: Start with your biggest ornaments first and finish with the delicate glass ones last.

🎁 There’s something magical about the holidays, and much of that magic is made with careful attention to detail and plenty of holiday sparkle.

Last week, we brought both together with the first tree, wreath, and tabletop decorating clinic of the season. The evening was filled with festive touches and heartfelt moments.

A special thank-you to De, who has been part decorating with the Festival of Trees since nearly its inception. Her dedication continues to inspire us all.

We were also joined by Launa and Hanna, a mother-daughter duo whose cheerful energy lit up the evening.
