Our condolences go out to the Calhoun County Sheriffs Office and the family of Deputy Steven Bruner. This image was taken at this year's FL River Fest as he was on site assisting with a smile all throughout the day! Thank you for your service to Calhoun County. RIP.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own, Deputy Steven Bruner.

Deputy Bruner worked tirelessly yesterday assisting with evacuations during the fire, putting the safety of others before himself. Shortly after his shift ended, he suffered a medical emergency.

To know Bruner was to love him. He was the kind of person who would step up to help anyone without a second thought. Selfless, dedicated, and truly one of a kind.

Our agency, along with many others, will deeply feel his loss.

Rest easy, Deputy Bruner. We have it from here. 💙
