When we started Kollision 8 years ago, there was more or less only one other notable show in the area. Over the years the convention scene has grown and countless shows have been started, especially in the Chicagoland area. Somewhere along this path of community growth, Kollision hit a snag. Between repeat venue issues and an overcrowded market we reached a point where Kollision no longer seemed viable. This is why, after six Kollision Cons, we have made the decision not to continue forward with this show. We never wanted Kollision to be the biggest or most famous, we just wanted to put on a show for fans run by fans where everyone could feel like family. We think that we accomplished that for at least some of you and, whether or not we did, we are eternally grateful for any support you gave us over the years.

This is not the end for us though! As many of you are aware, we did already have dates booked for Kollision 2017. In its stead we will be holding GEM Expo Chicago. GEM is our new show highlighting the best in gaming and entertainment media. This marks a fresh start for us and we hope that we will have your continued support as we follow this new path.
