This festival was created for the purpose of promoting and enhancing the brands of the many great distilleries throughout Texas. Along with promotion, we’re focused on educating whiskey enthusiasts on the many amazing whiskeys being produced in our great state. We believe that Texas has some of the best distilleries and whiskeys in the world, and the Texas Whiskey Festival is an opportunity to showcase that to everyone in attendance.

The wandering continues.

Wednesday we made our second wh***ey pick for this project, and we’re starting to get a little deeper into the unknown.

The first two selections are very different whiskies, from different distilleries, chosen for what each brings on its own—not because they fit some predetermined flavor profile.

That’s part of what makes this project so much fun. We’re not trying to find whiskies that taste alike. We’re choosing whiskies we find interesting and trusting that somewhere down the road, they’ll tell us what they want to become.

And yes, Wednesday was another pretty damn good day at the office.

Yesterday officially kicked off a project I’ve been working on quietly for more than a year.

We’re wandering ambitiously into the unknown.

Not because this is a radically new idea. And not because we don’t have experience doing it. What makes this different is that we’re picking whiskies without an end flavor profile guiding our choices.

Different distilleries. Highly different flavors. No predetermined destination. No egos. Just in it together.

We’re going to see where the wh***ey takes us.

Without a doubt, it was one of the best ways to spend a Monday: tasting fantastic wh***ey with an even better group of people.

Had a great time at the Rare Stock 07 release today. Always a good hang with , and the crew.

This one is a double oak finish, with the secondary barrel coming from Texas’ first cooperage — — using Texas oak. Cool to see more Texas wh***ey projects pushing deeper into grain, barrel, and place.

Good wh***ey. Good people. Good conversation.

Year 9 is in the books.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the 9th Annual Texas Wh***ey Festival. What a night. We tasted incredible wh***ey, reconnected with old friends, and made plenty of new ones along the way.

A little rain showed up, but it didn’t slow us down—if anything, it made the laughter a little louder and the exploration a little more memorable.

From the Pot vs. Column stills panel to the food, ci**rs, and dueling pianos… it all came together the way it should.

This thing only works because of you—distillers, partners, and every single person who walked through the gate.
Year 10 is already calling.
