🌧️ We love the rain… but the Patch needs a little time to dry out! 🎃

After this AMAZING rain our grounds are a bit too soggy to welcome everyone this weekend.

Our NEW OPENING DAY is Sunday, October 11, and we’ll celebrate with Grandparents Day! 🧡

👻 Spooktacular Haunted Maze: October 16 & 17, 7–10 PM
🔥 Bonfires & Bingo: October 17, combined with Haunted Maze night!

Once we dry out, we’ll be ready for corn maze adventures, hayrides, mini golf, pedal carts, petting zoo visits, pumpkins, shopping and all your favorite fall fun.

We are so grateful for the rain, but right now, much of the Patch is underwater. 🌧️🎃

We’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our opening day to Sunday, October 11.

Our Spooktacular Haunted Maze will also move to Friday, October 16, and Saturday, October 17. Bonfires and Bingo will remain on Saturday the 17th, gear up for a double feature evening!!!

Thank you for your patience while we give the grounds time to dry out. We cannot wait to welcome you all to Grass Roots soon! 🧡

👻 The Patch is getting spooky this weekend!

Join us for the Spooktacular Haunted Maze on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3, from 7–10 PM. Wander through the haunted corn maze, then climb aboard for a haunted hayrack ride. Both are included with your $10 admission!

Come hungry—we’ll have spooky supper options and concessions available. You can also shop Spooktacular specials in the Marketplace.

Youth are welcome, and the experience gets scarier after dark. You’re welcome to exit the maze at any time. Costumes are welcome, but never required! 🎃

⛳ DID YOU KNOW TODAY IS NATIONAL MINI GOLF DAY? ⛳

Honestly, neither did we—but we heard it on the radio, so it must be true! 😂

That makes today the perfect time to tell you about our AWESOME, EPIC, AMAZING mini golf course at Grass Roots Farms & Pumpkin Patch!

Mini golf is included with admission, and you can play as many times as you like. Challenge your family, rematch your friends or keep playing until you finally master your favorite hole!

This course was a huge undertaking, and it would not have been possible without the many Grass Roots friends who showed up, worked hard and helped us make this dream become a reality!

To every person who helped us build it: You are appreciated more than you know. We are incredibly grateful for you—and so proud to have this attraction at the Patch! 💚🎃

🎃SO MANY PUMPKINS TO CHOOSE FROM!

Did you know we offer more than 30 varieties of pumpkins? We have some great young entreprenuers growing locally for us again this year - and we can't wait to introduce them to you throughout the season!

You’ll find classic orange pumpkins for carving, colorful pumpkins for decorating, tiny pumpkins, giant pumpkins, bumpy pumpkins and plenty of wonderfully unusual varieties!

Most pumpkins are sold by the pound, with select specialty pumpkins priced as marked. The Marketplace is open during our regular patch times, Sundays 10-6, as well as during our events. We accept cash, check and credit cards!

Come explore the Patch, find your favorites and build the perfect fall pumpkin collection! 🍂

We are pretty excited about our line up of events this year, but this one is shaping up to be our biggest of the season for sure!

🌟 FAN GIRL MOMENT! 🌟

During my years with K-State Research and Extension, I developed such a deep appreciation for rural Kansas—and I always loved the work Ron Wilson did through the Huck Boyd National Institute for Rural Development.

Ron has a wonderful gift for finding the stories tucked inside our small towns and sharing them in a way that reminds us just how much innovation, heart and possibility exist in rural Kansas. His Kansas Profile: Now That’s Rural features have long been some of my favorites.

So, you can imagine how special it is to now see our own Grass Roots story featured in one of his articles!

Our journey has grown to include the Grass Roots Garden Hub & Floral, Grass Roots Farms & Pumpkin Patch, and the Grass Roots Institute of Kansas—all rooted in a love for our community and a belief in what is possible right here in rural northwest Kansas.

Thank you, Ron, for taking the time to learn about what we’re building and for sharing our story. I am truly honored—and still having a bit of a fan girl moment! 💚

Now That’s Rural: Grass Roots Institute

JoEllyn Argabright purchased the garden center in her local community, then expanded it with a floral store and a community kitchen to support rural food systems. Now she has opened a pumpkin patch that entertains thousands of students.

🎃 We are SO excited for another fall at Grass Roots Farms & Pumpkin Patch! 🍂

The 2026 season is coming up, and we have some really fun things planned. From the corn maze, hayrides, pedal carts, mini golf and petting zoo to pumpkins, concessions, marketplace shopping and a great lineup of special events, we’re looking forward to welcoming families back to the Patch for all the things we love about fall.

One important change this year: our regular public Patch days will be SUNDAYS ONLY.

As much as we love a full weekend at the Patch, this season we’re simplifying things a bit so we can put our energy into making the days we are open feel really special. We hope you’ll come make a Sunday of it with us!
