Our hearts are broken this week. Adam Jones, our beloved friend and warrior, has passed away. Thank you to all those who participated last year in our fundraiser for him and his family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
On June 15th, the world lost an incredible warrior. A warrior who had been battling a diagnosis of a Germ Cell Tumor in late October 2023 that when found near his heart, had already spread to his lungs. Adam fought with a fierceness, undergoing numerous rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, stem cell transplant and radiation therapy over the next few months. However, despite the intensity of these treatments, the cancer had returned this past November. This led the family down the path of immunotherapy and seeking out trials in hopes to find a cure for what no child or family should ever have to endure. Sadly, over the last few months, the cancer stopped responding.
Adam was an incredible young man who had so much life to give. He would have been going into his senior year this fall. He had a love for writing and was an incredibly gifted artist. Not only was he talented there, he played percussion in band. When not there, you could find him enjoying his love for tennis.
Adam lived life to the fullest at every chance he got. He experienced life thrilling moments white water rafting in Brazil, hang gliding through the clouds, and skydiving in Colorado. He was determined in anything and everything that he put his heart and soul into. An inspirational light to anyone who had an opportunity to know and love him.
We ask that you take a moment as not only did the world lose and incredible person, a mother, a father, his sisters and his brothers are hurting immensely. This family has a hole in their hearts that will never be the same. Adam was one of a kind. He was truly special. He made everything better by just being a part of it.
