Hello Family! We hope you all are remaining safe during this pandemic. Here is an Update on the 2020 Family Reunion:

After much consideration, the Means Family Reunion Committee has decided to cancel the 2020 Reunion this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. While we were very much looking forward to seeing you all, your health and safety is as important as trusting God’s plan.

The 2020 reunion, planned for June 26 to 28th, will pick back up in 2022 in the same location of Birmingham, AL. Tentative dates are July 1-3, 2022, so please mark your calendars. Additional details will follow in the coming year as the Committee reconvenes in January 2021.

Any payments that have already been made will remain attached to your name/account. You will only be asked to pay the remaining balance in 2022.

Please email the Committee at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns. Please also pass this information along to family members that may not be a part of this Facebook Group.

Happy New Year!

Reunion year is upon us and things are moving. Letters are out and are still going out as well. The new deadline as stated in the letters and email is FEBRUARY 15, 2020 this deadline is for a $25 deposit.

Also, we found out that there are about 4 other reunions going on at the hotel around the same time as ours so the biggest thing is making sure we are reserving our rooms.

Hello Family,

The Means 2020 Family Reunion is nearing, and we can’t wait to host you all in the beautiful city of Birmingham, Alabama (June 26-28, 2020). This email will be followed by a mailed copy of the reunion letter. We are working on limited contact information so if you know anyone who would like to attend please forward this information or send us their mailing and/or email address. A few key notes:

· The hotel will be the Birmingham Marriott and all rooms will be priced at $129 per night using the
Means Reunion Group.

Good Evening Family!

The Means 2020 Family Reunion is nearing, and we can’t wait to host you all in the beautiful city of Birmingham, Alabama (June 26-28, 2020). Over the next few weeks, you should be receiving emails and physical letters with details of the upcoming 2020 reunion. Please be reminded that we are working on limited contact information, so please either email us your updated contact information at [email protected] or forward this information along. We are also responding to Facebook questions and comments.

A few key notes about the 2020 Reunion:

· There will be a minimum $25.00 nonrefundable deposit per attendee due by January 15, 2020 for registration — Includes banquet fees + ticket to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Registration fees are as follows:
· Children (5-10 Years Old) $25
· Children (11-17 Years Old) $55
· Adults (18 & Older) $125

Hello Family!

As you may know, at our last reunion in Charlotte, there was an unanimous vote for a 2020 reunion cruise. Since that time, the Committee has done extensive research to gather pricing details involved in taking a cruise.

In total, the price of taking a cruise near the July 4th holiday will cost between $704 and $954 per person. These prices do not include travel expenses to the port (flight / gas cost to drive), or taxes & fees, and onboard activities. Booking before the July 4th holiday (May) ranges from $279 to $940 per person. Booking after the July 4th holiday (September, October) ranges from $220 to $900 per person. Please note that certain cruise lines do not release their 2020 cruise schedules until later this year, which will make it difficult to budget, and relay cost information to you in a timely manner.

Based on this information, we believe it would be more convenient, reasonable, and cost-effective to hold the reunion in our second highest voted option — Birmingham, Alabama. With that said, the Planning Committee has begun planning the logistics of the 2020 reunion in Birmingham.
