Back Alley Arts Festival - BAAF

We had planned to make this post for yesterday's election day, but felt it important to give space in support of the growing movement against the systematic racism in this country. This is certainly a time to reflect on the importance of freedom of speech, and voicing our values through voting. As part of Kelsey McDonnell's larger ongoing series, "Four Years of Flowers," she is collected responses about what voting means to you. If you'd like to be a part of this project, please stop by the gallery to pick yours up, or direct message us with your mailing address and we will send it to you with a copy of these instructions. When you've had a chance to reflect and write down your thoughts, send it back to be a part of the larger narrative - that's right, you cannot keep it, please send it back! We're looking forward to seeing your responses.

In the interest of our patrons and artisans, it should come as no surprise, that the 2020 Back Alley Arts Festival will be pushed to summer 2021. This event was created to bolster our artistic community in downtown Billings, and the best way for us to all do that this summer is to be . Stay safe, wash your hands, foster your creativity at home, and visit Toucan gallery to support some of your favorite local artists!

If you didn't have the opportunity to come by the BAAF and see Sherri Cornett work on her sculpture "Home : Peace," stop by the gallery this afternoon to see her finish the wire weaving and add your own thoughts on what home means to you! The piece will be installed at the gallery through the month of September.
