Worship leaders and musicians! Today we share reflections by the Rev. James V. Salzwedel from his many years of experience leading Moravian congregational worship from the piano or organ. This video was created for the 2021 Moravian Music Festival. Whether playing for Holy Week, Good Friday Lovefeast, communions, or funerals, there is something here for you. ----- Mit dem Frühling rückt auch unserer 40. brüderische an in immer näher. Es werden wieder um die 200 Teilnehmende aus und noch darüber hinaus erwartet. Viele sind Mitglied der Brüder-Unität, aber das ist keine Notwendigkeit. Die Tage werden geprägt sein von einem bunten Programm, beginnend mit gemeinsamen Proben, Workshops, Konzerten, einem Ausflug und dem Austausch untereinander.

Das Planungsteam steckt fleißig in den Vorbereitungen. Die Ausflüge mit unter einer Wanderung zu den Vogtsbauernhöfen, das Programm, die Zelte, Schlafunterkünfte, der bunte Abend, der musikalische Rahmen und vieles mehr werden mit viel Liebe und Motivation geplant, gestaltet und ausgetüftelt.

♦♦♦ Nun ist auch endlich die Anmeldung geöffnet! ♦♦♦ Über die Homepage des Bläsertags kann man sich informieren, einen Schlafplatz buchen, T-Shirts kaufen und sich natürlich für dieses einzigartige Ereignis anmelden. Der Anmeldeschluss ist am 31. März 2025.

Das Planungsteam ist schon sehr gespannt auf fünf Tage voller Musik, Begegnungen von Jung und Alt sowie Gesprächen mit bekannten und neuen Gesichtern.

The Moravian Music Foundation announces the 27th Season of the Unitas Chorale with a Concert on Sunday, May 4, 2025, 4:00 pm, in the sanctuary of Advent Moravian Church, 3730 Jacksonville Rd., Bethlehem, PA. A free-will offering will be invited.
Rehearsals are held January through April at College Hill Moravian Church; 72 West Laurel Street, Bethlehem, PA on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of the month. The Board of Trustees of the Moravian Music Foundation (MMF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Ogburn as Executive Director of MMF. He will assume these duties, while continuing his programming and musicological work.
Ogburn, a lifelong Moravian, joined the Foundation in 2022 as the Director of Programming and Resident Musicologist.
He earned his Master of Philosophy in Music and Master of Arts in Music from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, New York, NY. He went on to study and complete his Ph.D. in Historical Musicology, September 2018, at The Graduate Center, City University of New York, New York, NY. His dissertation was Strauss and the City: The Reception of Richard Strauss’s Salome, Elektra, and Der Rosenkavalier within New York City, 1907–1934. Ogburn earned a Bachelor of Music in Bassoon Performance and Minor in English Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC.
Prior to coming to the MMF, he taught and lectured at Manhattan College and LaGuardia Community College, before joining the faculty of Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, NC as Instructor of Music.
He will be replacing Bruce Earnest, who passed away suddenly at the end of July.

No ticket is necessary. We will receive a love offering that evening in which all proceeds will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW North Carolina to aid the victims of Hurricane Helene in our beloved state. Baked goods and drinks will also be for sale with all money raised going to the same cause.
For over 300 years, Moravians have turned to song to praise God, seek comfort, and find community. Accompanied by Mary Lou Kapp Peeples on the 1800 Tannenberg and members of the Moramus Chorale, we will all join in lifting our voices in love and hope singing hymns drawn from the 1923, 1969, and 1995 hymnals. Whether you come to sing or to enjoy the singing, we hope that you will join us in this Moravian tradition of song, community, and stewardship. www.moravianmusic.org

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held for Bruce Earnest at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, at Calvary Moravian Church of Winston-Salem. A private graveside service in Salem God’s Acre will be held prior for the family.
