Lee Skalkos Jewelry will be located in booth B-13 at the Connecticut Garlic & Harvest Festival October 7-8 at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds. Lee will be joining us this year as a first time artisan. She has been making jewelry for 35 years and received training from her father who is a welder. Lee makes all of her jewelry from scratch using sterling silver sheet metal wire, sea glass and beach stones in her work, and is a full time art teacher in Woodbury. Sport Hill Honey will be located in booth D-20 at the Connecticut Garlic & Harvest Festival, October 7-8 at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds. The Healing Herb Garden is a small-scale elderberry and other medicinal herb farm in Newtown, CT. They make elderberry based products such as elderberry syrups, elderberry health tonic, herbal and caffeinated elderberry teas, homemade jams, herbal infused honeys. The Grumpy Dumpling Co. will be located in booth D-115, in our South End food court, at the Connecticut Garlic & Harvest Festival October 7th & 8th at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds. Grumpy Dumpling Co. will be serving up hand-folded dumplings with organic filling: Asian pork, Asian chicken, Asian veggie- all topped with Thai fried garlic. This year's event schedule has been updated! Check out what will be happening at this year's Garlic Fest by clicking the link below. This year, we will have several new and exciting cooking demos, including how to make dumplings, how to make fire cider, cooking with garlic powders, and how to use black garlic in the kitchen. Interested in raising garlic yourself in your garden? Be sure to attend a lecture on how to grow garlic. This year's music lineup includes a performance by the KC Sisters on Saturday and the Al Fenton Big Band on Sunday. This and more will be happening at the Connecticut Garlic & Harvest Festival, October 7th & 8th at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds. One of New England's largest food festivals!

Thank you to everyone who supported our 2022 event and helped make it the biggest and best yet! Applications for this year's fair, to be held October 7-8, will be available next month. To show our appreciation to the vendors that supported us last year, they will be emailed applications on February 1st. For the first two weeks of February, we will only be accepting applications from those vendors that were present at our 2022 event. On February 15th, applications will be available on our website and emailed to everyone else on our mailing list. Please enjoy these photos from last year's event to get a taste of the quality vendors that will be at this year's event!

The Connecticut Garlic & Harvest Festival wishes everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. Our public service announcement for the day: both Eversource and United Illuminating will be raising electric supply rates beginning January 1st. Eversource's standard service rate is now 12.05 cents per kwh, and beginning January 1st, that will be going up to 24.17 cents. Do yourself a favor and switch to a third party electric supplier now, while you can still lock into a reasonable rate. Visit the below link, click "Supplier Rate Finder" in the middle of the page, and choose your utility provider. A list of third party electric suppliers will appear, and you can very easily sign up for a third party supplier. It will take you five minutes and is extremely easy to do. Basically all you need is your Eversource account number and your customer name key (found under your account number on the back side of your bill).

Right now, the best deal seems to be with Constellation NewEngergy- offering 13.79 cents per kwh. This is barely an increase over current Eversource rates. As you could see, for my electric usage, it would save me over $80/month versus the new standard Eversource rate coming in January if I were to make the switch.

Don't waste your money on higher priced electricity. Save it to buy some awesome treasures at next year's Garlic Fest! Happy Thanksgiving to all.
