💥ARTIST HIGHLIGHT💥 The Mad Dabbers - Reggae/Rock (Delaware)

The Mad Dabbers are a Reggae-Rock band from Central Delaware formed in 2019 following the breakup of local bands Surreal Nation and Sporadic Static. Fronted by vocalist Dave Nickolson, the band blends reggae grooves with the raw energy of ‘90s grunge to create a sound that stands apart from traditional reggae-rock acts.

In 2023, guitarist Carlos joined the lineup, bringing new influences and pushing the band into heavier, more experimental territory. By 2025, after several lineup shifts, Carlos moved to drums and the band leaned further into darker, Nu-Metal-inspired songwriting while still staying rooted in reggae and grunge. The addition of vocalist Lyss added even more depth, combining soaring melodies with aggressive screams, massive drums, thick basslines, and layered guitars to create a powerful and atmospheric sound.

Drawing influence from artists like Bob Marley, Black Uhuru, Sublime, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Linkin Park, and Godsmack, The Mad Dabbers describe their music as “Sublime meets Nirvana” — a fusion of reggae rhythms, grunge attitude, and modern heavy rock energy.
