After having several hard conversations over the last couple weeks with Benton city officials as well as looking at where we are with sign-ups just 12 days out from our event and understanding as I was recently told that I am competing against two other major cycling events the same weekend, we have decided to move the TDSS to the Spring.

I am excited that a local cyclist and pastor who has personal knowledge of our ministry, Edd Spurlock has committed to come on board and help me with the planning and ex*****on of the TDSS going forward. This will allow the opportunity to develop a team with some club ride developers so we can put together a great ride and fundraiser. It is important to us to do both of those things simultaneously as we want you to have a fantastic experience with the Tour de Salt Shaker and Backyard BBQ Fest. It is important to launch this event in a successful manner that you can look forward to year after year and one that you list at the top of your "MUST GO TO EVENTS" Please know we are striving hard to make this event a successful for everyone!

Put your BBQ skills to the test in this friendly yet tasty competition.
The highlighted meat for this cook-off will be wings! There will be prizes awarded for Best Sauce, Best Overall Flavor, Best Presentation, and Best Decorated Space.

COMPETITION ENTRY FEE: $45

ABOUT TOUR DE SALT SHAKER
The Tour De Salt Shaker is a full Saline County community event that will bring cyclist and Backyard BBQ together for a fun-filled Saline County Festival to raise awareness and support for adoption and foster care in our community as well as support services for women in unplanned pregnancies. All proceeds from this event will go to ABBA Charities, Inc. which support these services in Saline County and throughout the State of Arkansas.

Tour De Salt Shaker will comprise three cycling routes throughout Saline County to choose from. We will have a Fondo (50 miles), Medio (30 miles), Townie (10 miles), and a Tot Relay. The Townie is a great "family fun ride" and the Tot Relay is a great way to get your little ones involved as they relay down the Saline County Court Square. This event will begin in downtown Benton and will include our Inaugural KING OF THE WING BBQ CHICKEN WING COOK-OFF where we have our local grillin' teams will compete for the "Salt Shaker" trophy.

Other festivities include RollerFest where you can enjoy Mt. Bike Clinic, Southern BMX Trick Shows, and Skate Park Competitions – Big Air, Scooters, Skateboards, & Bikes hosted by the City of Benton Parks and Recreation and Holy Rollers

Look for festivities for the whole family including craft booths, face painting, live entertainment, food trucks and more.
